Male/DSH/Brown Tabby with White DOB: 7/1/02 Neutered/Up-to-Date on Vaccinations/House-Trained Good with other Cats Toby's sweet nature got him into hot water when he was abandoned at a camp ground in Indianapolis. Too trusting to avoid people, Toby ended up filled with buckshot when some unsavory character shot him repeatedly. Toby still has pellets in two of his feet, but the shots didn't change his personality. He is quick to trust people, and will be your instant friend if you pet his head or offer him wet food! This big guy ended up at Indy Feral when a Good Samaritan rescued him from the campground. But, he was far too sweet for Indy Feral to put him back outside. So Toby was transferred to OAR, and has become a beloved office cat in the clinic. This quirky guy is a little shy at first. Everyone in the clinic knows him because Toby will not, simply WILL NOT cross the threshold of the door to his office (not even for a treat!). He sits in the doorway and waits for you to return to his office, hopefully with a can of something with fish in it. Toby would love a family who knows that he prefer having his head rubbed with a flat hand (not scratched with your fingers -- we think he is sensitive from the buckshot), that it takes him a little time to relax when he is picked up, and that he prefers laying at your feet so he is always close to you. He will carry his buckshot wounds with him forever, but for Toby, it is just a reminder to love his own person that much more. Interested In Adopting? The adoption fee for this cat is $50, which goes toward the medical and daily care expenses for each cat. A second cat can be adopted at the same time at no extra cost (so $50 for 1 or 2 cats). You can visit adoptable cats and kittens at OAR, xxxx Orlando Place, Cincinnati, OH xxxx7 on Thursday from 6-8 pm or Saturday and Sunday from 1-4 pm. We also have adoption hosts at Oakley PetSmart, xxxx Alamo Avenue, Cincinnati, OH xxxx9 on Saturday and Sunday from 1-4 pm. NOTE: Part of the adoption process is a face-to-face meeting. About OAR:The Ohio Alleycat Resource & Spay/Neuter Clinic is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, volunteer-run organization. We promote non-lethal control for feral cat colonies and humane methods to reduce the population of feral cats. In particular, we practice Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR). We also offer low-cost, high-quality spay/neuter services for cats in a full-time Humane Alliance clinic. OAR also lends humane traps and provides advice on TNR. The organization also runs a small rescue with adoptable cats and kittens.
